World #5: Blank Book

The Alices will awaken in chairs and on the couch, and even some of them on the floor, of a rather generic household. What's most notable is that it's definitely Japanese, and they'll have all had their shoes removed and replaced with indoor slippers. There is a kitchen, closets, bedrooms, washrooms and a few locked doors. They cannot leave outside, although the windows reveal a rather pleasant neighborhood and small yard. It's sunny and cheerful out, but the Alices can't help but feel like they're being watched--especially C-ta. Occasionally, the phantom whispers of two girls who can't be seen at all will filter through the air.

On one of the locked doors on the second story is a piece of paper taped up. "To find the key to leave, you must find the key to this door. You have one week." There are no other clues, but the key has to be in the house somewhere, right? And it looks rather pristine. Almost too neat and tidy, like something is trying rigorously to control the location and keep it how it thinks it should be. In fact, they will notice there are multiple surveillance cameras throughout the house--all feeding into the locked room.

C-ta will recognize one of the three bedrooms as his own. However, it is lacking in something he won't be able to put his finger on. A second bedroom will be a room he feels he should know intimately, but can't recall who belongs there or where he's seen it. The third is simply a generic bedroom obviously meant to serve as a bedroom for parents who aren't present.

The fridge is stocked, so they won't go hungry, and the water does run if they decide they want to bathe. Otherwise, there's a sense of urgency to finding this key although the sun never sets and the day never seems to change. But it shouldn't be too hard to find one key... Right?

How possible is it to remove cameras and open them up to see if one of them might have a key inside it somehow? Would there be consequences to doing so?

The cameras will be unable to be undamaged. Don't worry--there's not a key in them.
